Cadency

Clemson’s student-led consultancy

I joined Cadency at the beginning of my sophomore year where I started out as a UI/UX designer and moved into a research & strategy role. At the beginning of my third semester in Cadency, I was put on leadership as the UI/UX director, then as the CX director, and I concluded my time as the creative services manager.

My Journey in Cadency

My journey in Cadency began with WolfPack Winery, where my team was tasked with a website redesign. While I joined on this client’s final semester with Cadency, I learned a great deal about website redesign, client relations, and agency life in general in my initial semester.

From WolfPack, I was placed on the Erwin Center Team my second semester in Cadency. Here, I was put in charge of our consultancy’s website and began to learn WordPress and best practices for website management and hosting.

In my third semester in Cadency, I was placed on leadership as the UI/UX director and joined the Clemson Business Transformation team where I would spend my remaining four semesters. On this team, we were tasked with understanding the pain points employees feel when undergoing a transformation at Clemson – based on this research we would then develop a communications and training plan that would resonate with key stakeholders and drive adoption.

In my sixth and final semester in Cadency, I served as a Brand Communications Intern for the Erwin Center for Brand Communications. My work supported the Erwin Center and Cadency, where I expanded my creative, strategic, and organizational skills across multiple projects. I managed creative operations for Cadency, including designing and ordering merchandise and patches, updating the agency website, and creating flyers for various initiatives. I also built internal documents to  ensure a seamless handoff of responsibilities. Additionally, I implemented a Slack workspace to improve communication and developed a Figma workspace to bring greater efficiency to our creative processes. A highlight of the semester was representing Cadency to the Board of Trustees by building and presenting a comprehensive summary of the agency’s four semesters of work for the Clemson Business Transformation.
